POLICY PRIORITY #1

Paid Family & Medical Leave for All

The latest: Congressional legislation for federal paid family and medical leave were re-introduced in 2023 by Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) and Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT).

PAY TRANSPARENCY & EQUALITY

A growing body of research links pay transparency with a reduction in the gender wage gap.

The latest: Colorado’s historic Equal Pay for Equal Work Act has inspired 7 other states (and counting!) to require salary ranges listed on open job postings.

Meanwhile, D.C. Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton re-introduced federal Equal Pay legislation in Congress in 2023.

AFFORDABLE, QUALITY CARE

Access to affordable, quality childcare and eldercare is an economic issue, not a household one.

A comprehensive care economy - serving both children and the elderly - unlock the full potential of 100% of the workforce.

The latest: read about President Biden’s 2023 Executive Order to advance free preschool and expand affordable care for children, older Americans, and those with disabilities in the face of Congressional roadblocks.

When women run for office, they tend to govern with an emphasis on issues impacting women, children, and families.

But currently, women hold just one-third of all elected positions, and women of color hold just one-tenth of all elected positions.
