About Jessica Grounds
Jessica N. Grounds has devoted her life to empowering women to be leaders in public life. She is recognized as a thought leader in the space of women’s leadership and has been named a top 50 Political Influencer by Campaigns & Elections magazine. She is the founder and principal strategist of Solid Grounds Strategy, LLC, a firm providing gender and leadership advising for candidates, companies, and organizations. Most recently she served as the Director of Women Ready for Hillary, the grassroots organization that built early support for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential run. Ms. Grounds is the former Executive Director of Running Start, an organization that she cofounded which inspires girls and young women to run for elected office. She currently serves as Running Start’s Co-Chair of the Board of Directors.
Ms. Grounds’ background spans work within the private, nonprofit, and political sectors. She has advised hundreds of women leaders including many of the youngest women Members of Congress. She routinely lectures on the barriers for women’s leadership and skills trainings for a wide variety of organizations and academic institutions. Through the U.S. Department of State and other international groups, she trains women leaders from around the world. Most recently she traveled to Panama, Northern Ireland, Tajikistan, Brussels, Rwanda, Germany, and Lesotho to speak about women’s leadership and empowerment.
