After years of personal and professional reflection, I’ve come to realize that the skills I acquired while slinging fried chicken as a teen, I continue to exercise today.
Let’s face it: work can be stressful sometimes. Or a lot of times. And when you’re feeling overwhelmed, it impacts you, whether or not you notice.
At one point or another, most people have found themselves working in a less than ideal environment. Maybe it’s a manager, a peer, or the team’s values or vision that's bothersome, or maybe there's simply a gnawing feeling that something is wrong.
Getting to manage your first intern is an exciting moment. Not only is it a step towards managing a larger team, but you get to supervise a wide-eyed, eager-to-learn young professional.
