3 Tips For Successfully Side Hustling In The Summertime

Happy Friday, boss!

With the first day of summer right around the corner, many of us (myself included) are looking for ways to make a few extra coins in order to fully enjoy those beautiful sunny days ahead.

As a millennial who works a 9-to-5 with an avid side hustle or two, it can sometimes be overwhelming to keep all of my schedules intact. Now that the days are getting longer and happy hours will more than likely extended beyond 8 PM with friends, it’s important for you and I to have plan in place to flourish in the art of side hustling.

Here are three keys steps I’m taking for a successful side hustle this summer:

1. Take Charge of Your Time.

This is a no-brainer, but during the summer it is so common for us to lose focus and daydream about that weekend at the beach or Beyonce’s next concert. To keep track of both my work and side hustle calendars, I rely heavily on Google Calendar and YouCanBookMe. While everyone may not use Gmail, You Can Book Me gives the opportunity to see your personal calendar and choose a time and date for a coaching session, call or meeting. And the best part? The appointment uploads directly to your Google Calendar, so you have everything in one place.

2. Keep Up With Your Progress.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not a fan of documents being scattered and hard to find. Enter Dropbox and Google Drive. Particularly if you find yourself collaborating with a client on a project, both of these tools allow you the ability to share documents succinctly and receive immediate feedback.

3. Don’t Neglect Your Network!

Summer only lasts a few short months, and you want your side hustle to continue beyond then, right? Of course! Don’t get stuck behind your screen! Get out to events to meet professionals in and out of your industry – it’s a great way to strengthen your people skills, enhance your elevator pitch and potentially meet a new client or two, while also having some fun.

Get started with me and Bossed Up this month at our Bossed Up Power Hour in D.C. next Thursday, June 23rd at Local 16, which I’m happy to be co-hosting this month with Emilie! I’ll be there sharing more side hustle tips and information about my brand, Millennial On A Mission. You can RSVP by clicking here.
