I’m Joining The Stuff Mom Never Told You Podcast!

Last year I had the privilege of sharing my journey from burnt out to Bossed Up with Cristen Conger and Caroline Ervin, the creators behind one of my absolute favorite podcasts, Stuff Mom Never Told You.

That single conversation led to a whole slew of amazing things:

  • A fab new friendship with two women I fiercely admire;
  • A bunch of new Bossed Up fans who joined our growing community of courage;
  • And the opportunity of a lifetime to speak alongside Cristen, Caroline, and another Atlanta rockstar, Porsha Thomas of Ladypreneur League, at SXSW!

But I never could have predicted what happened next.

At the end of 2016, Cristen and Caroline left the HowStuffWorks network to write a book and launch their own media company, Unladylike. In their absence, the network faced a stark choice: let the show wither on the vine or double down and invest in a podcast all about the challenges and choices that women face today in 2017.

I’m thrilled to share that they made the right call.

Now more than ever we need major media players like HowStuffWorks to provide the kind of platform that raises consciousness (and maybe even raises a little hell!) around the new ways women’s rights are under attack. We need a show that provides research-driven advice that informs and empowers women to be the boss of their own lives and careers.

And that, dear bosses, is the show that Bridget Todd and I have been given the opportunity to create for you!

Bridget is a longtime political pal and DC gal about town who you may have seen writing for The Atlantic, setting fearless fashion trends with her Black Lives Matter hat at Donald Trump’s inauguration, or fawning over Solange’s live performance after speaking on the intersection of pop culture and politics at SXSW.

Basically, Bridget’s the best. As good as it gets. A total rockstar. And together, we got a LOT to talk about.

We can’t wait to break down tough topics like the new war on women’s health, why it’s hard to make new friends as a grown-ass woman, and how career advice can turn into policing women’s speech. We’ll cover fun stuff, too, like the story behind how Teen Vogue got mad woke, what made “Auntie Maxine” Waters go viral, and whether your hairstyle is a feminist statement.

So if you’re not yet sure about this whole “podcast fad,” get on board, boss. This mega medium isn’t going anywhere, and tuning in is as simple as finding “Stuff Mom Never Told You” in Apple Podcasts and subscribing so you’ll never miss an episode. Here’s a quick video tutorial on how to subscribe on your iPhone or via iTunes. You can also find us on Spotify, GooglePlay, and at www.StuffMomNeverToldYou.com

And don’t you worry, I’m not going anywhere in terms of my role as CEO of Bossed Up. I’m thrilled to bring even more of our message to the masses and can’t wait to keep bossin’ with you – now even in your ear buds!

To celebrate Bridget and I stepping up as co-hosts, we hosted a Facebook LIVE Coffee Q&A to get to know our listeners and share our stories. Watch the replay below:
